Iraq files UN complaint against Israel

An Iraqi government spokesman said that Israel used Baghdad airspace to attack Iran on Saturday. Iraq has filed a complaint with the United Nations in protest.

The Times of Israel reported this in a report on Monday (October 28).

Earlier, the Iranian military claimed that it used Iraqi US-controlled airspace to attack Iran. This claim was made in a statement issued by the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces. This time, the claim has been confirmed through the Iraqi government’s complaint.

Several photos and videos circulating on social media from Iraq have shown that various parts of the missiles used by Israel to attack Iran have been found. The missile fragments appear to have fallen in an area north of Baghdad.

Israel attacked military targets across Iran last Saturday in retaliation for Tehran’s ballistic missile attack on October 1.

The Iranian military said in a statement that Israeli warplanes were within 100 kilometers of the Iranian border. There, several missiles were fired at Iranian targets using US-controlled airspace in Iraq.

In recent weeks, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has visited several neighboring countries. There, he warned that if a third country allows Israel to use their airspace to attack Israel, Tehran would consider it “legitimate” to take action against that country.
