Jack Sullivan, National Security Adviser of the Office of the President of the United States of America, claimed that Israel supports the ceasefire proposal in Gaza. However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has not publicly commented on this so far.
Sullivan spoke to reporters on the sidelines of the G-7 summit in Italy on Thursday (June 13). At this time, he said, the world should put pressure on Hamas to agree to this ceasefire agreement.
It is known that Hamas has demanded several changes in the ceasefire proposal. Of which many proposals are effective, some are ineffective. The U.S. official said the main goal now is to resolve the differences that still remain over the agreement for a Hamas-Israel cease-fire.
Incidentally, the Israeli media Times of Israel reported on Channel-13, Cannes, and some Hebrew language media that Hamas is insisting on a permanent ceasefire. It wants assurances from Israel of a permanent ceasefire before reaching any kind of temporary ceasefire.
In addition, in exchange for the release of the hostages, Hamas has set the condition of freeing the Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons. In addition, the armed group demanded to start the reconstruction of Gaza from the first phase of the ceasefire.
