Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said that Malaysia will not recognize Israel but will support the Palestinian people.
He made this comment at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) press conference held in Lima, the capital of Latin American country Peru on Friday (November 15). At the same time, he rejected the change of diplomatic relations regarding Israel.
Anwar Ibrahim said Malaysia was the only country to raise questions about Israel’s increasing violence against Palestinians at this year’s APEC conference.
He also said, ‘If the rights of a nation are denied, how can we talk about economics and free trade? It is a matter of justice. Malaysia will continue to support the Palestinians wherever needed.
Meanwhile, over a year of Israeli attacks have killed more than 45,000 Palestinians. More than one lakh people were injured. In this situation, different countries of the world have proposed a ceasefire, but Israel does not accept it. In addition to Palestine, the war has also spread to Lebanon. Israel is constantly conducting airstrikes there as well.
