Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned that Israel will face a “large-scale conflict” with Hezbollah in the near future.

He warned security chiefs about this during a strategic meeting on Thursday, The Times of Israel reported.

Netanyahu said, the conflict could become widespread in the north of the country.

Netanyahu believes the IDF will not have the momentum to maintain military pressure on the armed group Hamas in the event of an all-out war in Lebanon, broadcaster Cannes reported on Saturday. However, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant is not sure about this.

According to Channel 13 news, Netanyahu believes that Israel is heading towards an inevitable all-out conflict with Hezbollah. A diplomatic solution that would end Israel’s near-daily cross-border clashes with the Lebanese armed group remains elusive.

A timeline for the expected clash has not been set, Channel 13 said, citing a Netanyahu aide. Of course, before that, top officials were making promises for months, then a clash could happen within weeks or months.

Since October 8, Hezbollah-led forces have been attacking Israeli communities and military posts along the border almost daily. The group claims that they are carrying out this attack in support of the people of Gaza in Israel’s war with the armed group Hamas. Only the border conflict will stop if the fighting in Gaza stops.
