The rail bus is a light rail vehicle. It has been specially designed for passenger transport. This environmentally friendly and innovative transport system is more efficient than existing alternatives. In addition, the cost of this vehicle is also lower.

Earlier, in January 2023, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai signed a memorandum of understanding with the US company Rail-Bus Inc. This memorandum of understanding was signed at the Dubai International Project Management Forum. In this system, the rail vehicle will run on a bridge that will generate electricity from solar panels to keep the transport system running.

The Dubai RTA authorities also signed another agreement with the UK’s Urban-Mass company. The agreement will explore the potential of developing the Flock Duo rail system. The Flock Duo rail is a double-track system that will ensure fast and efficient transportation. Abdul Mohsen Kalbat, CEO of Dubai RTA’s Rail Agency, said, “By signing these two MoUs, we are moving forward with the adoption of the latest technology and innovation in the transportation system.”

He added, “The Flock Duo rail is the world’s first innovative transportation system that uses double tracks. It is fully automated and electric. It will operate efficiently by using short units when passenger traffic is low and long units when traffic is high.”

Hatim Ibrahim, CEO of Rail Bus Inc., said, “Our collaboration with RTA will set new standards in sustainable transportation development. Through this partnership, we will move forward towards transforming Dubai into a more environmentally friendly and smart city.”
