Taliban supreme leader Hibatullah Akhundzada recently issued a decree. Which will help establish central control over Afghanistan’s military assets.
The purpose of issuing this decree is to prevent the unwanted distribution of weapons left by the United States. This step indicates a significant change in the Taliban’s internal security management.
This decree has effectively limited the power of Defense Minister Mullah Yaqoob and Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani over military assets. At the same time, it has further strengthened the central command structure.
This directive has become particularly necessary because of the risk of arms smuggling in eastern Afghanistan.
Akhundzada’s new decree emphasizes increasing internal security and taking strict measures against the unwanted use of military assets. So as not to increase security risks with bordering countries.
This order not only strengthens Akhundzada’s control over military assets, but also highlights the Taliban leadership’s commitment to maintaining regional stability.
This effort to centralize the Afghan government is intended to ensure tighter oversight of military assets. This is expected to help address the current security situation.
