The International Food and Beverage Fair has ended in Malaysia

A three-day international food and beverage fair concluded in Malaysia with the participation of industry entrepreneurs from around the world.

The fair, called Food and Drinks Malaysia by Sial, runs from Thursday 2nd to 4th July at the MyTech Convention Center in the capital, Kuala Lumpur.

Bangladesh participated in this fair for the second time. 22 countries, including Bangladesh, participated and displayed products at 330 booths and a special international lounge. The fair was inaugurated by Malaysia’s Deputy Minister for Plantation and Commodities, Datuk Chan Fung Hin.

Bangladesh Food and Beverage Company Pran Foods Limited participated in the fair under the supervision and cooperation of Bangladesh High Commission. Bangladesh High Commission plays an active role in creating an opportunity to exhibit various food and beverage products of Bangladesh with other 7 countries (Canada, Ukraine, Vietnam, Britain and Ireland, Pakistan, Thailand and Australia) in the international lounge along with the designated booth in the fair.

On the opening day of the fair, Deputy Minister for Plantation and Commodities Datuk Chan Fung Hin and Sabah State Industrial Development Minister Datuk Fung Jin Zhe visited the Bangladesh Corner of the International Lounge and the booth of Bangladeshi products.

On the closing day Thursday (July 4) the fair and Bangladeshi stalls were visited by the High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Malaysia. Shamim Ahsan.

The High Commissioner told the journalists present that in the context of the growing demand for Bangladeshi products in Malaysia, the High Commission is actively working with other plans including participation in various trade fairs to expand the market for Bangladeshi products.

Bangladesh High Commission in Kuala Lumpur is participating in this kind of international trade fair in continuation of the ‘economic diplomacy’ followed by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina with the aim of creating opportunities for export of other products as well as garments as part of export diversification.

During the visit, Henry Tan, Director of ComExposium Asia Pacific, Assistant Marketing Manager of the same company, Kien Ng and Smrita Sivanes, High Commission officials and expatriate journalists were present during the visit.

The fair is organized as part of the world’s brands and industry entrepreneurs under the patronage of the Malaysian government and with the support of MYSEB, MATRADE, Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, PKNS, Malaysia Business Group, Sabah MIPE, Malaysia Cocoa Board and Malaysia Spice Board.

This trade conference and fair is organized every year to connect with industrial entrepreneurs and economic leaders in search of global markets, business consensus, strengthening business with innovative solutions.

Active participation of Bangladesh in various international fairs under the initiative of Bangladesh High Commission will play a role in creating opportunities to export Bangladeshi products to Malaysia and ASEAN countries.
