A Bangladeshi ship has been captured by Somali pirates in the Indian Ocean. The ship’s 23 Bangladeshi sailors are currently held hostage by pirates. The crew of the hijacked Bangladeshi ship MV Abdullah has been identified.
Somali pirates took control of the ship around 12:00 Bangladesh time on Tuesday.
The ship was bound for Dubai, carrying coal from Mozambique, Africa. It is known that the vessel MV Abdullah was operated under SR Shipping. Earlier in 2010, the ship of the same company, MV Jahan Moni, fell into the hands of Somali pirates. After 3 long months the ship was freed with 26 sailors.
According to the owner of the ship, efforts are underway to bring the ship and sailors back.
