Saudi Arabia should establish a Palestinian state on its own land, because there is a lot of empty space in the country. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said this in an interview with Channel 14 on Thursday (February 6). The Jerusalem Post reported.
The report said that Saudi Arabia has stated the establishment of a Palestinian state as a precondition for normalizing relations with Israel. Riyadh has also made it clear that no negotiations are possible on this condition.
When asked about this, Netanyahu said, “I will not enter into any agreement that will endanger Israel as a state. Especially in the situation after October 7, there is no question of agreeing to the plan to establish a Palestinian state.”
He said, “Do you know what that is? There was a Palestinian state. Its name was Gaza. Gaza was led by Hamas, they were the ones who ran this Palestinian state. And look what we got from there – the biggest genocide since the Holocaust.” ’
US President Donald Trump made scathing remarks about Gaza during a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday (February 4).
He declared that the United States would ‘occupy’ Gaza and take it under its own control. He said that the devastated valley would be rebuilt and would be a major economic development, creating a huge number of jobs and housing.
Shortly after the press conference, the Saudi Foreign Ministry said that it was not interested in holding any talks with Israel before the establishment of a Palestinian state.
