Visit visa holders are prohibited from entering Mecca during the Hajj season

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior has announced a ban on visiting visa holders entering Mecca during the Hajj season. The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said in a report about this on Thursday.

The Hajj season began in Mecca on May 23, which will end on June 21. Therefore, to ensure the safety of pilgrims at this time, this ban will apply to all types of visit visa holders.

Visit visa holders are not allowed to perform Hajj, the Home Ministry said in a statement.

The ministry has advised visit visa holders not to travel to Makkah without a Hajj permit during this time. And it has warned of paying fines according to Saudi rules if traveling to Mecca without complying.

About 2.5 million people around the world will perform Hajj this year. It is expected that Hajj will be performed from June 14 to 19 this year.
