What Trump said about the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas

Israel and Hamas have agreed to a ceasefire agreement. According to the agreement, Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners will be released in phases. Citing several sources, the US media CBS News reported this news.

After the agreement, US President-elect Donald Trump gave a status on his own social media account Truth Social on Wednesday.

It said, We have reached a deal for prisoners in the Middle East. They will be released soon. Thank you.

He said, the ‘epic ceasefire’ agreement only happened because of our historic victory in November. This victory has signaled to the world that my administration will seek peace and make a deal to ensure the safety of all Americans and our allies.

Trump said he was ‘thrilled’ that both American and Israeli hostages will return home.

Trump, naming Steve Witkoff, the special envoy for the Middle East, said Steve and the national security team will continue to work closely with Israel and our allies to ensure that Gaza never again becomes a safe haven for terrorists.

He said his team would continue to promote peace through force throughout the Middle East and build on the “momentum” of the Abraham Accords.

“This is just the beginning of great things to come for America and, indeed, for the world,” he added.
