Some 370,000 people have been forced to flee their homes since the escalation of violence in Syria, UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said in a statement.
The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said on Friday that at least 370,000 have been displaced since the escalation of violence in Syria. Of these, 100,000 Syrians have fled their homes more than once. Most of these displaced are women and children.
Conflict situation
The Takfiri rebel group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, which is based in the country, seized several areas in Aleppo and Idlib provinces last month in a major offensive.
Since then, Syrian government forces, supported by Russian forces, have been engaged in fierce clashes with the rebels to retake these areas.
Syria has been in the grip of foreign-backed terrorism since March 2011. The Syrian government claims that Western countries and their regional allies are supporting the country’s rebel groups and trying to destabilize the country. Source: Mehr News Agency
