4 killed in plane crash in Indonesia

A plane belonging to Indonesian local airline SAM Air crashed in Gorontalo province on Sulawesi island on Sunday, killing all four people on board.

The PK SMH type plane crashed after losing contact with air navigation officials in Makassar, Xinhua reported, citing local media.

According to local media, the head of the Gorontalo Search and Rescue Office, Herianto, said in a statement that the plane took off from Jalaluddin Gorontalo Airport at 7:30 am on Sunday for Bumi Panua Pohuato Airport. However, it lost contact shortly after and was reported to have crashed near Bumi Panua Pohuato Airport.

The four people on board the crashed plane included a pilot, a co-pilot, an engineer and a passenger.
