5,500 Israeli soldiers suffering from severe mental problems

The occupying Israeli soldiers are carrying out a hellish genocide throughout Palestine, including the blockaded Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank. Meanwhile, about 5,500 soldiers are suffering from severe mental problems after participating in this genocide. They are also having to receive treatment due to serious mental problems.

Israel’s war with the Palestinian armed group Hamas began on October 7 last year. After that, 12,000 soldiers went to the rehabilitation department of the Israeli Ministry of Defense for treatment. Among them are soldiers suffering from mental problems.

The Israeli Ministry of Defense said that 5,200 soldiers came to their rehabilitation center with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). This is 43 percent of the total soldiers receiving treatment.

On the other hand, 14 percent of the soldiers in the rehabilitation center came here with moderate to serious injuries. Of these, 23 suffered head injuries, 60 were amputated, and 12 soldiers lost their eyesight.

Of the 12,000 who received treatment at the rehabilitation center, 66 percent were reserve soldiers.

The Israeli Defense Ministry also said that about 1,500 of those who received treatment came to the rehabilitation center twice. That is, they received treatment once and recovered and went back to fight. Then they came here again with injuries or mental problems.

This rehabilitation center, run by the Defense Ministry, had already been serving 62,000 soldiers who were physically or mentally damaged in various wars. The rehabilitation center said that the number of its beneficiaries could exceed 100,000 by 2023.

Meanwhile, the occupying Israel has been carrying out barbarity in Gaza for the past year. All the people of this small valley have suffered mental problems due to their barbarity. In addition, many are living in inhuman conditions without treatment due to injuries.
