Russia and North Korea will have closer relations in 2025 than in 2024. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un wrote a New Year’s greeting to Russia on Tuesday, the last day of the year. In it, Kim described Russian President Vladimir Putin as his closest friend.

The two countries have come closer after several important agreements were recently signed between Russia and North Korea.

In his New Year’s greeting to Russia, North Korean leader Kim wrote that he hopes that in 2025, the two countries will have closer relations than in 2024.

In this letter, Kim congratulated the Russian people and brave soldiers.

Ukraine recently said that it had confronted North Korean soldiers in the war with Russia. In other words, North Korean soldiers are fighting for Russia. South Korean and US intelligence agencies have been making this allegation for a long time. Not only that, North Korea is also accused of regularly sending weapons and ammunition to Russia. Kim neither accepted nor denied these allegations.

According to reports, at least 1,000 North Korean soldiers were injured in the fighting with Ukraine on the Kursk border. They have been taken to hospital.

Russia and North Korea have increased their closeness since 2022. The two countries have signed several agreements. One of them is a military agreement.

Kim visited Russia and met with Putin. Putin also visited North Korea. That’s when the military agreement was signed between the two countries.
