“Red Alert” issued in Saudi Arabia

“Red Alert” has been issued in Saudi Arabia due to heavy rain. Besides, flash flood warning has also been issued in the country.

On Tuesday, Dubai-based media Gulf News reported that Saudi Arabia, a Middle Eastern country, is facing adverse weather conditions. Capital Riyadh, Jeddah and several other cities are receiving moderate to heavy rainfall.

The weather disaster forced the suspension of many school and university classes in Riyadh, Qasim, Hafar Al Batin and several other regions on Tuesday.

The country’s National Meteorological Center (NCM) has issued a ‘red alert’ for heavy rainfall in various states (especially North Tabuk region). The warning is issued for the risk of strong winds, hail and flash floods.

Moderate to heavy rain and thundershowers are forecast. NCM has predicted dust storm and hailstorm in Madinah, Makkah, Tabuk and several coastal areas. The general public has been asked to be cautious.

The Meteorological Center has predicted that rainfall may continue in most parts of the country till Wednesday (March 20).
