19,000 expatriates arrested in Saudi Arabia in one week

19,600 illegal immigrants have been arrested in the past week for violating various rules and regulations in Saudi Arabia, an oil-rich country in the Middle East. 15 thousand 200 of them have been sent back to their respective countries.
According to the Saudi Ministry of Interior, the Saudi police conducted this operation across the country from April 24 to May 1.
Those arrested included 12,436 people for violating Saudi residency rules, 4,464 people for violating border protection rules and 2,762 people for violating labor laws.
The Ministry of Home Affairs says that more than 53,000 illegal immigrants are currently in the process of returning to their respective countries. There are 4500 women among them. Apart from this, more than 44,000 expatriates have been referred to their diplomatic mission to take necessary documents to send them back to the country.
One of the most influential countries in the Middle East, Saudi Arabia has a total population of 32 million. However, many expatriates live in the country. Recently, the country has started a large-scale arrest operation to prevent illegal immigrants. As part of this operation, the Saudi police arrested illegal expatriates from all over the country.
