Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former prime minister Imran Khan has been sent to 10-day remand. The anti-terrorism court in Lahore remanded Imran Khan in several cases on Tuesday. News of Sama TV.
The prosecutor cited ‘security concerns’ for not producing Imran Khan in person. He was produced in court through a video link.
Earlier, cases were registered against Imran Khan in various police stations including Sarwar Road, Gulberg, Race Course, Sadman, Mughalpura and Model Town.
In the hearing, Imran Khan said that he has requested a judicial inquiry into the May 9 riots and urged the Chief Justice of Pakistan to intervene in the matter.
Denying involvement in the riots, the PTI founder said, “I have never incited violence in my 28-year history.”
Earlier, Imran Khan had criticized the chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) during the Toshakhana case hearing on Sunday.
He said, keep me in jail, but release my wife. Why have you detained her?” Bushra also commented that Bibi was imprisoned only to make him (Imran) suffer.
Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi were recently acquitted in a major case related to ‘illegal marriage’. However, just a few hours later, he was arrested in another case.
