Armenia Contemplates EU Membership Amidst Shifting Alliances

Armenia is weighing the possibility of applying for European Union (EU) membership, according to statements made by Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan during a television interview with Turkish channel TRT on Friday. Mirzoyan, attending a diplomatic gathering in Antalya, Turkey, revealed that Armenia is actively considering aligning itself with the European Union, a move perceived as a strategic shift towards the West amid strained relations with Russia.
“New opportunities are largely being discussed in Armenia nowadays,” Mirzoyan stated during the interview. “That includes membership in the European Union.”
