China sanctions 7 US military companies and officials

The United States recently announced significant military assistance and arms sales to the Taiwan Strait. In response, China has imposed sanctions on 7 US military companies and relevant senior officials.

China’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Friday.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry announced that it will take retaliatory measures against 7 US military companies and relevant senior officials for their recent military assistance and arms sales to Taiwan.

The Chinese Ministry said that the US ‘National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2025’ contains a number of negative provisions related to China. This violates the one-China policy and the three China-US joint declarations.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry said in a statement that it interferes in China’s internal affairs and undermines China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The companies subject to China’s sanctions are:

According to China’s ‘Foreign Sanctions Countermeasures Law’ (Articles 3, 4, 5, 6, 9 and 15), the following seven companies and related officials have been subject to sanctions:

Insitu, Inc.,

Hudson Technologies Co.

Saronic Technologies, Inc.

Raytheon Canada

Raytheon Australia

Aerkomm Inc.

Oceaneering International, Inc.

Terms of the sanctions:

The real and movable properties and other assets of these companies and related senior officials within China shall be confiscated.

All Chinese entities and individuals shall be prohibited from engaging in transactions, cooperation and other activities with them.

The ban will take effect from December 27, 2024, according to a statement from the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
