Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has pledged to continue supporting the Palestinian struggle for freedom and dignity. He reiterated his strong support for Palestine on Saturday after Israel continued its attacks on the occupied territories and the Gaza Strip.

Erdogan told local officials on the Palestinian issue at a meeting in Istanbul that “Turkey, as an enemy of the oppressors and a defender of the oppressed, stands by the struggle for freedom and dignity against the genocide in Palestine.”

Meanwhile, referring to the Israeli Prime Minister, Erdogan said, “The United States, Europe and the UN Security Council have become mere toys in the hands of a ruthless murderer known as Netanyahu. 20,000 children have died. Yet no one has come forward to say, ‘This is shameful.’ Thousands of women have died, yet women’s rights organizations have not uttered a word.’

He added, ‘175 journalists have died, yet the international media has not paid any attention. The responsibility for the massacre of 50,000 innocents undoubtedly lies with the lawless occupation forces of Israel. Those who unconditionally support the Israeli government and send weapons and ammunition are also openly involved in this massacre.’

Erdogan then paid tribute to the leaders and members who fought for the Palestinian cause, ‘who have become legends not only through their struggle, but also through their martyrdom. They have watered the land of Gaza with their blessed blood. I pray to God for mercy on Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, who was recently martyred.’
