EU urges China to stop human rights abuses

The European Union (EU) has once again called on China to stop violating human rights.The EU has expressed concern about unlawful detention, enforced disappearance, torture and ill-treatment.

An EU delegation made this call after visiting Tibet and meeting Chinese officials on Monday (June 17). British news agency Reuters reported this news.

In a statement, the EU expressed concern over China’s human rights situation. It called the human rights situation in the country’s Xinjiang, Tibet and Hong Kong “very serious”.

The statement said, “The EU in its report mentioned the crackdown on human rights defenders, lawyers and journalists in China.” The EU has urged China to investigate and stop human rights abuses, expressing concern about illegal detention, enforced disappearances, torture and ill-treatment.
