Hamas-Hezbollah’s strategy and capabilities are sinking Israel

Several Israeli media outlets have claimed that Hezbollah and Hamas’ military strategy and capabilities are facing stiff resistance from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), which is having a major impact on them.
Israeli security analyst and retired army colonel Kobi Maram told the country’s Channel 13 that Hezbollah’s rocket power and leadership pose a major threat to Israel.
He also noted that Israel is suffering heavy losses in the ground operations in Lebanon and that previous miscalculations are leading to a need for a larger budget.
Israeli media outlets are also reporting that the continuous shelling from Lebanon is causing power outages at Israeli military installations along the border.
The Israeli military’s internal crisis
The activities of Hamas and Hezbollah in Gaza and Lebanon are deepening internal divisions within the Israeli military leadership.
Israeli news agency Walla’s military correspondent Amir Bohbot recently described the lack of coordination between Israel’s northern and southern commands as an “internal conflict” caused by a strategic shift in the ground war with Hezbollah and Hamas, which involves using explosives to try to build resistance against Israeli forces.
Bohbot said there is a “significant gap” in the Israeli military structure, for example – in a recent incident in Gaza, experienced reserve soldiers from the 252nd Division refused to enter a building without adequate support from a special unit. A reserve officer commented at the time that some of the work is unrealistic and that senior leaders often ignore this.
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has postponed his son Avon’s upcoming wedding amid the potential threat of drone attacks.
Israeli news agency Shrugim reported that Netanyahu is particularly concerned about potential drone attacks from Lebanon, Iraq and Yemen.
Hezbollah’s steadfast resistance
Israeli media reported that their forces were shocked by Hezbollah’s steadfast resistance. As the group’s fighters continue to clash directly with Israeli forces on the border and continue to cause casualties.
In this context, the demand for an end to the conflict in the northern region under Israeli occupation and for negotiations for an agreement is also becoming increasingly strong.
The Israeli newspaper Maariv acknowledged that Hezbollah has the ability to withstand long-term pressure and continues to launch rocket attacks on various Israeli cities, such as Safed and Haifa.
In this regard, the former commander of the Gaza Division, Major General (Reserve), Gadi Shamni, criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, saying that he (Netanyahu) is essentially isolated from the people and the army.
Shamni claimed that the most important thing for Israel now is to stop this war and release the prisoners.
Meanwhile, Hezbollah has declared itself ready for a protracted war against Israel and has also stated that it will not accept any ceasefire offered by Israel.
Hezbollah has recently stated, ‘We negotiate from a position of strength and the battlefield will ultimately determine the outcome.’
In this regard, Noam Tiban, former commander of the Israeli Northern Command, said that since the start of the war in Lebanon, about 800 Israeli soldiers have been killed and about 12,000 have been injured, and many are suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.
He noted that, ‘We have lost an entire division of quality personnel and we need three additional divisions. Otherwise, we will have great difficulty defending Israel.’
Jerusalem Post Report
Acknowledging this, a Jerusalem Post report on Monday said that the number of Israeli soldiers killed in southern Lebanon is increasing every day.
An analysis by Seth Frantzman published in the Sanbad media noted that although Israeli forces have struck to weaken Hezbollah’s command and control, it has not succeeded and Hezbollah’s leadership is still effective.
Frantzman also noted in his analysis that even after the killing of Hamas and Hezbollah commanders, and even after the leaders of the two organizations have been killed, their people are still capable of leading. Which makes Israel’s military operation strategically unsuccessful.
