Washington has ordered US citizens in Lebanon to leave the conflict-ridden country as soon as possible.
The US administration specifically noted in a statement on Saturday that commercial air services are still operating but are operating on a limited basis and that these opportunities may also be closed if the security situation deteriorates in the future.
The US directive comes at a time of heightened border tensions and conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.
In such a context, Americans staying in southern Lebanon and refugee camps have been urged to move to safe places immediately.
Recently, border fighting between Israel and Hezbollah has increased dramatically. Since the beginning of the Israeli attack on Gaza, this tension has been increasing.
Meanwhile, in retaliation for the recent pager and walkie-talkie blast attacks, the Lebanese armed group has fired rockets at northern Israel since Saturday night. Hurmuhu rocket attack has spread panic in Israel. Millions of Israelis fled to shelters to escape the attacks.
All schools and beaches in the northern part of Israel have been closed after this attack by Hezbollah.
Confirming this, Israel’s military said that around 5 am local time on Sunday, around 20 projectiles were detected simultaneously entering the northern part of Israel from the territory of Lebanon. Then around 6 am another 85 projectiles were fired from Lebanon. Source: Anadolu Agency
