Helicopter crashes into hospital, killing 4

An ambulance helicopter crashed into a hospital in the southwestern Turkish city of Mugla, killing all four people on board.

The Turkish Health Ministry said in a statement on Sunday.

The helicopter crashed while taking off from the Mugla Training and Research Hospital. It was carrying two pilots, a doctor and a medical staff member. All of them died.

Mugla Regional Governor Idris Akbiyik told reporters that the helicopter first hit the fourth floor of the hospital building and then fell to the ground. However, no one inside or outside the building was injured.

He added that the accident is believed to have occurred in dense fog and that an investigation is underway.

Meanwhile, video footage from the crash site showed debris strewn across the area outside the hospital. Several ambulances and emergency services were at the scene.
