Hassan Nasrallah, the main leader of the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah, was killed last Friday (September 27) in an Israeli airstrike.

The French newspaper Le Parisien reported that an Iranian spy gave secret information about Nasrallah’s location to Israel a few hours before the airstrike. Israel launched airstrikes against him.

The media also reported on Lebanese security sources that Nasrallah will hold a meeting with high-ranking commanders at Hezbollah’s headquarters in Beirut on Friday. Shortly after he entered the underground headquarters, airstrikes took place. It uses bunker busting missiles. which collapses the headquarters of Hezbollah.

Meanwhile, the media New York Times says that Israel has known the location of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah for several months. The media reported this information citing three senior Israeli defense officials.

On the other hand, the Israeli report said that the decision to launch an operation to kill Nasrallah was made recently and it was not informed to the United States.

The report also said that when this decision was taken, Israeli leaders were discussing a possible ceasefire in Lebanon with US representatives. In addition, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu went to address the United Nations General Assembly session.

Two Israeli officials said more than 80 bombs were dropped in the operation in south Beirut, Lebanon. Six buildings were destroyed. Although the Israeli army confirmed the death of Hassan Nasrallah in the attack on Friday, no comment was received from Hezbollah. But finally on Saturday morning they confirmed the news of the death of the head of Hezbollah.

The New York Times reported that Israel increased its intelligence activities against Lebanese resistance fighters mainly after the 2006 war. They employ spies in various ways to collect secret information. The new team of detectives was created from within the army. So that they can deliver them to the Army and Air Force in a timely manner.

In addition, the Israeli Signals Intelligence Agency unit develops many sophisticated cyber tools. With which the mobile phones and other devices used by Hezbollah fighters are easily hacked. The recent successes they have had against resistance fighters have come thanks to these intelligence operations.

Analysts say the loss of Hassan Nasrallah would have important implications, potentially destabilizing the group and changing its political and military strategy in the short term.

However, this anti-Israel organization will not stop suddenly. Because they have already announced to continue the fight. The group still has thousands of fighters. Many of them have experience of taking part in the Syrian war and have demanded revenge.

The organization still has a considerable number of missiles, many of which are long-range. There are weapons such as targeted strikes, which can reach Tel Aviv and other cities.
