Indian Navy Vessel Thwarts Attack on Panama-Flagged Tanker

In a display of swift response and maritime security prowess, the Indian Navy’s INS Kochi intervened to protect the Panama-flagged crude oil tanker, MV Andromeda Star PM, from a potential threat on Sunday.
Responding to distress calls, INS Kochi intercepted the troubled tanker, deploying an aerial reconnaissance mission via an Indian Navy helicopter to assess the situation on board. Additionally, an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was swiftly dispatched to the vessel to conduct a thorough risk assessment.
Fortunately, all 30 crew members, including 22 Indian nationals, were reported safe, and the vessel was able to continue its scheduled transit to the next port under the vigilant watch of the Indian Navy.
