Osama Hamdan, a senior official in the Palestinian independence movement Hamas, said that the occupying Israel is still refusing to accept a full ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and withdraw its troops from the besieged area.
He made this statement while talking to the Qatar-based Al Jazeera TV network on Friday.
Hamdan said that Hamas had prepared a plan for a full ceasefire in Gaza in exchange for the release of prisoners. But the Israeli government refused to accept it.
The issue was highlighted in a report by IRNA on Saturday morning.
The Hamas official alleged that the occupying government was obstructing the ceasefire efforts. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wants to get rid of the issue by killing their prisoners.
Osama Hamdan also said that Hamas had previously accepted a plan for the gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza. However, the Netanyahu government rejected that plan as well.
Meanwhile, Israel carried out a barbaric attack on the Kamal Adwan Hospital in the northern Gaza city of Beit Lahia on Friday. Regarding the attack by the Zionist army, a Hamas official said that the attack was part of the alleged plan of the Israeli general and was carried out with the aim of destroying any civilian infrastructure necessary for the survival of the people of Gaza.
Hamdan stressed that there were no armed people present in the hospital. Yet the barbaric forces attacked there and killed innocent people, the sick, the wounded and the doctors who were providing care.
