Recently, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has condemned the Israeli attack on Lebanon. His claim, this attack bears proof of Israel’s ambition to expand the regional conflict.

Erdogan insists Israel is still carrying out attacks like a terrorist group.

He said this while talking to the media in Istanbul before attending the UN General Assembly session in New York on Saturday.

Regarding the Pager explosion in Lebanon, Erdogan said, “Israel has proved through this attack that it has no sensitivity towards civilians and can use any means to achieve its despicable goals.”

The Turkish president also said that Israel is expanding its attacks throughout Lebanon and the surrounding areas, and that it has the support of some Western countries.

He warned everyone at the time that this region (Middle East) is currently facing an ‘indescribable huge crisis’.

In this regard, the Turkish leader called on the international community, especially the Western countries, to take preventive measures instead of watching this “heinous act” by Israel.

At least 37 people were killed and more than 3,250 injured when wireless communication devices called ‘Pagers’ and ‘iCom’ exploded in Lebanon on Tuesday and Wednesday. Among them are women and children.

However, no comment was received from Israel.

Meanwhile, Erdoğan said on Friday that in his address to the United Nations General Assembly, he would emphasize the need to reform the global governance system regarding the Israeli aggression in the besieged Gaza. Especially with the UN Security Council and the International Financial Framework.

“I will talk about the need for a more inclusive, fair and effective framework,” the Turkish president said.

He mentioned that he will address the United Nations General Assembly on September 24 and present Turkey’s views on regional and humanitarian issues. In particular, he will talk about general action against the genocide in Gaza and Israel’s aggressive policy.

Erdogan also said that more than 130 heads of state and government are expected to participate in this year’s meeting of the United Nations General Assembly.

The Turkish president emphasized that the whole world, especially the United Nations, has a responsibility to stop Israeli oppression, establish a permanent ceasefire and allow humanitarian aid to flow freely.

He said, “We will remind our partners about these issues again during our visit”.

Commenting that “Netanyahu and his network are resorting to provocation and incitement to implement their radical Zionist ideology,” Erdogan said, “The increasing attacks and harassment of our First Qibla Al-Aqsa Mosque are part of the same dirty conspiracy.” As Turkish Muslims, we have repeatedly expressed our level of sensitivity on this matter. Even today our position is the same. “The pressure on Israel must be increased to save the region from a major catastrophe.”

Meanwhile, on the Syrian issue, the Turkish president said, “We have expressed our willingness to meet with Bashar al-Assad to normalize relations between Türkiye and Syria.” Now we are waiting for their response.
