Israeli airstrike in Damascus, TV presenter and 3 killed

At least three people, including a popular TV presenter, were killed in an Israeli airstrike in the Syrian capital Damascus. 9 more people were injured in this incident.
This information was reported by the BBC on Tuesday (October 1) citing the Syrian state news agency Sana.
According to the report, three people, including TV presenter Safa Ahmed, were martyred in the Israeli aggression in the capital Damascus.
The Syrian Defense Ministry said the Israeli military launched an attack on Damascus with drones and aircraft “from the occupied Golan Heights” at around 2am local time. Three civilians and 9 people were injured.
Our air defense system has shot down most of the Israeli missiles and drones, the ministry said in a statement.
Video posted on social media showed an explosion near a telecom building in western Syria, CNN said. After that, a car was seen on fire. However, it is not known whether Safa Ahmed and others were killed in that attack.
Israel has been carrying out occasional airstrikes in Syria since the Hamas attack on October 7 last year. However, Israel refrained from making any official comments on these attacks.
Meanwhile, Israel has started ground operations in Lebanon after the air strikes. Early Tuesday morning, the army launched a “specific and limited” ground operation targeting Hezbollah infrastructure in several villages along the border with southern Lebanon.
Al Jazeera reports that Israel has launched airstrikes in the southern suburbs of Beirut. After ordering residents to evacuate, the neighborhood was bombarded.
Israel’s new ground operation in Lebanon has been named ‘Operation Northern Arrows’. The Israeli army said the attack was carried out by a combination of ground, air and artillery forces.
