Israeli media has recently made new claims about the assassination of former Hamas leader Ismail Haniya. Israeli Channel 12 reported that the Tel Aviv government’s military surveillance department has authorized the publication of new information on the matter.

According to Channel 12’s claim, Haniya was observed in the same place in Tehran multiple times.

The report states that the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad killed Haniya by planting a bomb in his room.

It also claims that the bomb was planted in Haniya’s room before the inauguration of Iran’s new president. On the night of the assassination, the ventilation system in Haniya’s room failed. This could have caused the operation to be canceled.

However, the report claims that the operation was successful because the Iranians repaired the ventilation.

Following the incident, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said that Ismail Haniyeh and one of his bodyguards were martyred in an attack on his Tehran residence on July 31.

In a statement, the IRGC said that the assassination was “a planned and implemented conspiracy by the Israeli regime, carried out with the support of the criminal US government.”

The recent claims and counter-statements by Israeli media have further heightened tensions in the Middle East.
