TORONTO – The bustling atmosphere of the 2024 Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) International Convention in Toronto welcomed Kazakhstan with open arms as the country unveiled its national pavilion at the prestigious event on March 4. Minister of Industry and Construction Kanat Sharlapaev spearheaded the inauguration, emphasizing Kazakhstan’s strategic move to position itself as a key player in the global mining landscape.

For the second consecutive year, Kazakhstan has made a significant impact at PDAC, underscoring its unwavering dedication to fostering international collaborations and attracting foreign investments into its domestic mining sector. Minister Sharlapaev underscored the importance of this consistent presence, highlighting the nation’s commitment to integrating into the global geological community.

The national pavilion proudly showcased the leading achievements and projects of top Kazakh companies, including ERG, Tau-Ken Samruk, Kazakhmys, GreyWolf, and KazakhGeology. The exhibition not only highlighted Kazakhstan’s innovative potential but also served as a platform to spotlight the country’s openness to international collaboration and cutting-edge technologies in the mining industry.

Minister Sharlapaev’s remarks also resonated with the nation’s commitment to the Geological Industry Development Concept for 2023-2027. Kazakhstan is not merely participating in PDAC-2024; it is actively positioning itself to expand bilateral and multilateral partnerships in the geological exploration and mineral development sector.
