French President Emmanuel Macron has rejected US President Donald Trump’s plan for “ethnic cleansing” in Gaza, calling for “respect” for the Palestinians and their Arab neighbors.

He made the call in an interview with US media outlet CNN.

French President Emmanuel Macron said, “You can’t tell two million people, ‘Okay, now guess what? You’re going to be relocated.'” This is not a real estate operation, this is a political operation.

Macron also criticized the Israeli war in Gaza. He said, “I have always disagreed with (Israeli) Prime Minister Netanyahu.”

He said, “I never believe that such a large-scale operation targeting civilians is right.”

US President Donald Trump made nasty comments about Gaza during a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on February 4.

He announced that the United States would “occupy” Gaza and reorganize it under its own control.

Widely criticized for various reasons, Trump said that the devastated valley would be rebuilt and massive economic development would be achieved, which would create a large number of jobs and housing.

Arab states have strongly condemned Trump’s proposal to create a “Middle Eastern Riviera.”
