The wedding of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s son Avna Netanyahu has been delayed by the ongoing multi-front war in the Middle East. Although the wedding date has been set, Netanyahu is not in favor of organizing his son’s wedding right now due to security concerns.
A report in the country’s state-run news agency The Times of Israel said that Netanyahu wants to postpone his son Avna’s upcoming wedding due to security concerns in the face of the war in Gaza and Lebanon and the threat of Hezbollah drone attacks. Israeli state broadcaster Kan reported this information.
Avna Netanyahu’s wedding is scheduled to take place on November 26 at the Ronit Farm in the Sharon area north of Tel Aviv. However, the Israeli prime minister has told his aides that holding the ceremony as scheduled could pose a risk to the participants.
However, Netanyahu’s office has not yet commented on the matter.
Earlier on October 19, a drone launched by Hezbollah from Lebanon hit Netanyahu’s bedroom in the city of Caesarea. The explosion also damaged his residence.
A censored photo by the military shows the extent of the damage caused to Netanyahu’s residence by Hezbollah’s drone strike that day. The explosion shattered a window in his bedroom.
However, the drone was unable to penetrate the window, likely due to the strong glass and other security measures. However, the glass fragments fell into the swimming pool and courtyard next door.
The incident highlighted several shortcomings in Israel’s warning system. No warning sirens sounded when the drones entered Caesarea. According to the IDF’s initial investigation, after shooting down two drones, the third disappeared from their radar. Attack helicopters were deployed to destroy the drones, but they were unable to detect the third drone.
