The country’s immigration department has arrested 93 immigrants after raiding several night clubs in the capital of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur.
The country’s Immigration Department (JIM) conducted this operation last Friday (September 20) at midnight local time.
Immigration Department Deputy Director General (Operations) Jaffrey Mbok Taha said the raids were carried out simultaneously at two entertainment centers in Menzalara and Bukit Bintang on Friday night. 93 foreigners were arrested in the operation. Among them are 62 Thai women and one Thai man, 10 Vietnamese women, 11 Chinese, five Bangladeshi men, two Myanmar men and one woman each from Laos and Mongolia.
Jafri also said preliminary investigations showed that most of the arrested foreigners came to Malaysia as tourists. But most of the visas have already expired. He also said that those arrested have been taken to Putrajaya Immigration Office for documentation process.
