Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has commented that the order to kill Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrullah came from New York. He made this comment in a statement on the death of Nasrullah on Saturday.

Al Jazeera reported this news with reference to Iran’s state media.

On July 31, Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh was assassinated in an elite hotel in Tehran on the night of Pezekshian’s swearing-in. Within three months, Iran lost its trusted ally Hezbollah head Nasrullah in the Middle East. It can be said that Pezekian is not in a very happy situation after assuming office as president.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu presented the “argument” for military operations in Lebanon and Gaza at the United Nations General Assembly on Friday. He condones indiscriminate bombings and killing of civilians, ignoring severe criticism from around the world.

According to the Iranian president, Netanyahu ordered and approved the killing of Nasrullah while sitting in New York. At the same time, he claimed that the US is behind the killing of Nasrullah.

“The international community will not forget that the order for this terrorist attack came from New York,” Masoud Pezeshkian said in a statement.

Israel carried out a massive bomb attack on at least 140 targets, including Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, on Friday night. Israeli forces confirmed Nasrullah’s death by attacking Hezbollah’s central command center there. Nasrullah, considered Tel Aviv’s ‘eternal enemy’, had been leading the armed group Hezbollah for the past 32 years.
