Petition to arrest Netanyahu

An application has been made to the International Criminal Court (ICC) to issue an arrest warrant against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

On Monday (May 20), the chief prosecutor of the ICC, Karim Khan, gave the information himself. The declaration of application has also been published on the website of the court.

It can be seen on the website, apart from Netanyahu, an application has been made for the issuance of arrest warrants against the top leaders of Hamas, a group of Palestinian freedom fighters.

The list includes Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Galant, Head of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas in the Gaza Strip, Yahya Sinwar, Commander-in-Chief of the Al Qassam Brigades, Mohammad Diab Ibrahim Al Masri, and Ismail Haniyeh, Head of the Political Bureau of Hamas.

In the application for the issuance of the arrest warrant, Karim Khan said that these people from both sides have been responsible for committing war crimes and crimes against humanity since October 7 last year. He has sufficient reasonable evidence to believe this.

On October 7, Hamas fighters entered Israel and attacked civilians. After killing hundreds of Israelis, looting, destroying civilian property, they took 245 hostages. Evidence of these crimes includes CCTV footage, credible audio, video, photographs, eyewitness accounts, expert observations.

He said that Netanyahu and Gallant are responsible for the ongoing war crimes in Gaza. They are indiscriminately attacking and killing people. Gaza is being bombed as if there were no people there. Israel is also preventing relief supplies from reaching there, which is a war crime.

Israel has killed more than 35,000 Palestinians in the Gaza war so far. Netanyahu’s forces destroyed 70 percent of the houses.
