Roads flooded in Saudi due to heavy rain

Heavy rains in Saudi Arabia have left numerous roads submerged in rainwater. It has affected the capital Riyadh, Diriyah, Huraymala, Dhurma to Quyyah. Somewhere cars were seen washed away by the rain.

The country’s Meteorological Department has said that it may rain till Monday. In this ongoing weather situation, moderate to heavy and hailstorms may occur in different areas during this time. At this time, schools, colleges and universities and other educational institutions have been closed in different parts of the country.

The weather forecast also said that the weather will be worst in Makkah and its surrounding areas of Taif, Maysan, Adham, Raniyah and Al Muahah. However, Riyadh, along with Wadi Al Dawasir may experience moderate rainfall. Also high speed winds can cause dust storms at some places.

In the forecast, citizens are warned not to leave their homes unless it is necessary. Also asked to stay away from valleys and swampy areas during storms or rains.

Meanwhile, UAE received heavy rainfall last week. This led to flooding in various parts of the Emirates including Dubai. The flood caused by the rainwater was so severe that many people were trapped in their cars. A few people have also died after getting stuck in cars in the Emirates.
