The desert country of Saudi Arabia has experienced unprecedented rains and severe flooding. As a result, roads and residential areas in several cities in the country have been severely damaged.

According to the Saudi Meteorological Department, this low-pressure area is expected to continue for several more days.

At the same time, the National Meteorological Center of Saudi Arabia issued different levels of warnings in different regions of the country on Tuesday. The two holy cities of Mecca and Medina and some areas in the east have been issued red alerts. Which indicates the highest level of alert.

In addition, a low-level orange alert has been issued in the capital Riyadh, the central region and the southwestern provinces of Asir and Jazan. However, citizens have been asked to be alert there too.

Preparation of rescue agencies

In such a situation, the Saudi Red Crescent Authority and other rescue agencies are fully prepared. The Red Crescent confirmed that they are fully prepared to continue their ambulance services and rescue operations.

Saudi authorities have advised citizens to be vigilant and follow safety guidelines, especially in areas covered by the red alert.

Meanwhile, the Civil Defense Authority has urged people to avoid valleys, low-lying areas and places where rainwater can accumulate.
