At least 7 children were killed in the explosion of an explosive device in the southern province of Daraa, Syria. Two people including a child were injured in this explosion on Saturday.

Police say an explosive device planted by terrorists detonated in the town of Sanamain in Daraa province. 7 children were killed and 2 others were injured in the explosion. One of the injured is a woman.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a UK-based human rights watchdog, said the militia had allegedly planted an explosive device targeting an unidentified person in the area.

Daraa was the epicenter of the 2011 uprising against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad that began in the country. However, in 2018, under a ceasefire agreement signed with the support of Russia, the control of the Bashar al-Assad-led government was re-established. Since then, killings and clashes have been happening in this province. Even in the way of life of the people, a terrible crisis has come.

Various foreign militant groups and military forces took part in the civil war that started in Syria. More than 507,000 civilians were killed and millions of people were displaced in the deadly conflict that lasted for several years. Due to continuous conflict, various infrastructure and industrial institutions of the country became ruins.
