Several cars collide in Turkey, 37 injured

Two people were killed and at least 35 injured after a chain of several cars crashed on a long-distance highway in the Turkish city of Mersin.

The casualties were caused by a chain accident on Saturday when a bus carrying workers and a passenger bus collided with Turkey’s Akkuyu nuclear power plant.

Meher News reported this information citing local media.

According to the press, the incident started mainly due to the fact that another car overtook the passenger bus. Another car coming from behind hit those cars. Meanwhile, many high-speed vehicles were involved in accidents on the highway.

One of the victims was a woman, an employee of the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant. Another is a passenger in another bus, who is a military officer.

The injured were taken to the nearest hospital.
