Strong earthquake shook Taiwan

An earthquake of magnitude 6.3 has struck the eastern city of Hualien in the Central Asian country of Taiwan. The Meteorological Department said that the earthquake struck on Friday (August 16).
The news agency Reuters reported in a report that the Hualien city of Taiwan was shaken by a magnitude 6.3 earthquake on Friday morning local time. No casualties have been reported so far.
According to the Meteorological Department, the origin of this earthquake was 9.7 kilometers deep from the plain.
Besides, on Thursday (August 15) late at night, an earthquake of magnitude 5.7 hit the northeast coast of the country. After that, the officials of the meteorological department warned that there is a risk of landslides in the hilly areas for the next few days.
Due to the earthquake, the city continues to run at low speed.
Located at the junction of two tectonic plates, Taiwan is one of the most earthquake-prone regions in the world.
Earlier in April this year, a magnitude 5.5 earthquake hit the city of Hualien.
