A Thai woman used to make friends by sweet talk and then kill them by mixing the deadly poison cyanide with their drinks. In this way, she killed 14 people. But the end was not saved. A Thai court has sentenced the woman accused of killing 14 friends with poisonous cyanide.

This information was revealed in a report by the British news agency BBC on Wednesday (November 20).

According to the BBC report, a Bangkok court has convicted 36-year-old woman Sararat Rangsuthaporn of killing a wealthy friend by mixing poison with food and drinks while traveling last year.

After the death of Sararat’s wealthy friend, her relatives and friends were reluctant to accept it as a natural death. Later, the autopsy found the presence of cyanide in his body. In this situation, the Thai police arrested Sararat and found Sararat’s involvement in several other such deaths since 2015. In addition, one of the survivors was also found.

Police said that Sararat was known in the Thai media as “Am Cyanide”. She was addicted to gambling. The woman would target friends who received money. She would later kill them with cyanide and steal their jewelry and valuables.

Police also said that in April last year, Sararat went on a trip to Ratchaburi province, west of Bangkok, with her 32-year-old friend Siriporn Khanwong. There, they participated in a Buddhist ritual in a river.

Investigators said that after eating with Sararat, Siriporn became seriously ill. At one point, she collapsed and died. But during this time, Sararat made no attempt to help her dying friend.

An autopsy found traces of cyanide in Sirirat’s body. Police also said that her phone, money and bag were missing from where she was rescued.

After the death sentence was announced, Siriporn’s mother, Kiachanasiri, looked at her daughter’s photo and said, “You have received justice. There is still justice in this world.”

Kiachanasiri said that she could not even look at Siriporn in anger in court. She was smiling when the death sentence was announced. She had previously claimed innocence.

In the trial, the court also accused Siriporn’s husband, his lawyer and a former police officer of destroying evidence to avoid trial. They were sentenced to one, two and four months in prison respectively.

In the trial, Siriporn’s family, who was the victim of the murder, was also ordered to pay 2 million Thai baht in compensation.

When cyanide enters the body, it affects the oxygen cells. As a result, the person suffered a heart attack. The initial symptoms of cyanide include dizziness, shortness of breath and vomiting. Even a small dose of this poison can cause death. And in large quantities, it can cause death in just one second.

The toxic substance is heavily regulated in Thailand, and anyone caught possessing it without permission could face up to two years in prison.
