The names of the imams of Tarawih prayers at the Holy Kaaba Sharif for the upcoming month of Ramadan have been announced. On Friday (January 31), the General Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques announced the names of these imams and assigned them responsibilities.

The seven imams of Tarawih at the Kaaba are Sheikh Abdur Rahman As Sudais, Sheikh Maher Al Mueaqly, Sheikh Abdullah Juhani, Sheikh Bandar Balilah, Sheikh Yasir Dawsari, Sheikh Badr Al Turki and Sheikh Walid Al Shamsan.

Thousands of people join the Tarawih prayers at the two holiest places in Islam, the Kaaba and the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina. In addition, these prayers are broadcast live on TV.

The largest number of people perform Umrah during Ramadan compared to other times of the year. This makes Mecca more crowded at this time.

The Presidency said that the full schedule of Tarawih for Ramadan will be announced very soon. Muslims around the world are preparing for Tarawih in this holy month, and all measures are being taken to conduct it smoothly in the two holy mosques.

The holy month of Ramadan may begin in Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern countries from March 1, subject to the sighting of the moon. The month of Shaban began in Saudi Arabia yesterday. The 29th day of Shaban will be February 28.

The country’s moon-sighting committee will meet today to search for the moon of Ramadan. If the moon is not sighted on that day, Ramadan will begin from March 2.
