Calling the death toll in besieged Gaza over 40,000 a “horrific event”, a senior UN official said a ceasefire should be established as soon as possible to save people.
UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk said this in a statement on Friday about the death toll in Gaza reaching 40,000.
He emphasized that today is a bitter and painful event for the whole world. The war-mongering attitude and anti-humanity activities of child-killing Israel are responsible for this unimaginable situation. There is no doubt that attacking and killing civilians is neither a war victory nor a success for war criminal Israel. However, these brutal killings and unprecedented crimes will remain a black chapter for the occupying Israel and its supporters in the Western world and will never be erased from history.
The Gaza Ministry of Health reported that the death toll from Israeli attacks in the besieged Gaza Strip has exceeded 40,000.
According to a statement, since October 7 last year, 40,500 Palestinians have been killed by the barbaric Israeli forces. Another 92 thousand 401 people were injured.
