Donald Trump will take office as US President on January 20. After taking office, he can immediately start implementing immigration policy as promised. In the meantime, 1.5 million illegal immigrants on the list will be sent back to their country. There are about 18,000 Indians on this list.

On Monday (December 13), Indian media India Today reported that the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has recently made a list of 1.5 million illegal immigrants. The list was published last month. It includes 17,940 illegal Indians.

Before the publication of this list, Washington sent back illegal Indian citizens residing in the United States to their country by chartering a chartered flight last October.

The US Department of Homeland Security said that they were sent back in coordination with the Indian government.

India Today says that there are about 725,000 illegal Indians in America. India is the third country with the highest number of illegal immigrants there. Mexico and El Salvador are in the first and second positions respectively. The list was recently released by the Pew Research Center.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) also says that about 90,000 Indians have been detained while illegally entering the US border in the last three years. The US is trying to work with India on this crisis. But India is not responding much, claims Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). For this, India is mentioned as ‘uncooperative’ in the list.

Bhutan, Myanmar, Cuba, Congo, Eritrea, Hong Kong, Iran, Laos, Pakistan, China, Russia, Somalia and Venezuela have also been kept on the list as uncooperative countries.
