US to supply anti-submarine weapons to India

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has approved the sale of potential anti-submarine weapon SnowBoys and related equipment to India. The estimated price of these weapons is 52.8 million US dollars. This information was given in a report of news agency ANI on Saturday.

The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency has notified Congress of the potential sale of these weapons and provided the necessary certification.

According to the statement, the Government of India has requested procurement of various equipment including AN/SSQ High Altitude Anti-Submarine Warfare (HAASW) Sunobuoys, AN/SSQ-62F HAASW Sunobuoys. The estimated price of these weapons is 52.8 million dollars. Immediately after this, the US Secretary of State approved the sale of these weapons.

The statement added that the proposed sale of these arms would support US foreign policy and national security objectives to help strengthen the US-India strategic relationship. It will also ensure the safety of the main partner.
