The Israeli army issued a statement regarding the damage caused by the Iranian attack. Israel’s defense force, the IDF, said it had intercepted a large number of Iranian missiles and drones.
The IDF said Iran repelled the majority of attacks using strong air defenses. They countered the attack by using Aero (Arrow) air defense systems with strategic allies in the region before they crossed Israeli territory.
However, several missiles and drones hit a base in southern Israel, the IDF said. The force said there was little damage to the infrastructure.
Aero defense systems can defeat high-altitude ballistic missiles instead of slow-moving drones. It is designed like this. Israel used this defense system to shoot down Houthi ballistic missiles launched from Yemen at the start of the Gaza war.
IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari said that they have received reports that one person was injured in the Iranian attack. He said a military base suffered some damage after several Iranian missiles hit Israel. However, what kind of damage has been done to any base has not been reported.
Hagari did not give details about who was injured in the attack. But earlier, Israel’s Ambulance Service reported that paramedics treated a seven-year-old girl. The girl was injured in a shelling in a Bedouin-dominated area of Arad region.
The Israeli army said some restrictions on movement inside the country had been lifted. However, Israel did not give any details about this.
According to the news published in the Times of Israel, the country’s citizens no longer have to live near shelters. However, the ban on gatherings and all kinds of educational activities and going to schools remains in place.
