An Israeli strike killed 19 people as they waited at an aid distribution point north of the besieged Palestinian Gaza Strip. 23 more people were injured in this incident.

The Ministry of Health of Gaza announced this information in a statement on Saturday (March 24).

According to the statement, at least 19 people were killed and 23 wounded by Israeli occupation army tank fire and shelling. They were waiting for relief trucks at the Kuwait roundabout on the outskirts of Gaza City.

On the other hand, the Israeli military said that they are investigating the incident.

Just a week ago, Gaza’s health ministry blamed Israeli strikes for the deaths of 20 people seeking relief at the Kuwait Roundabout. But the army denied the allegation.

Meanwhile, the UN-backed Food Assessment Agency warned on Monday that half of Gaza’s population was facing “catastrophic” hunger.

Famine may occur in the north of the region by May if urgent intervention is not done.

The United Nations has been warning for weeks that a famine is imminent, with aid agencies reporting huge difficulties in gaining access to Gaza, particularly in the north.
