5 killed in Israeli missile attack in Syria

At least five people were killed in an Israeli missile strike in central Syria. 19 others were injured in this incident.

The attack happened on Sunday.

The Syrian state news agency SANA reported that after the attack, a fire broke out near the town of Masyaf, west of Hama. Later this casualty happened.

A security official told SANA that Israel launched an “air attack” against several Syrian military units from Lebanese airspace. The source also said that the Syrian Air Defense Forces shot down several missiles.

Al Jazeera, a Qatar-based media outlet, says Israeli jets have launched an attack against Syria from Lebanon. Perhaps they wanted to avoid Syrian airspace. Because where several regional and international forces operate, including Russia and the United States. The director of Masayaf Public Hospital said the casualties were civilians.

Basically, during the last 13 years of the Syrian civil war, Israel has been regularly conducting airstrikes in the country. These attacks often target Iran-linked sites. However, the Israeli military has not confirmed or commented on its operation in Syria.

Sunday’s attack comes as Iranian officials threaten revenge for the killing of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran in July.
